Studio Policy
In order to get the best possible start, ALL students must have a piano or a keyboard at home. While they can be thought what to do and how to do it, they cannot progress without practice.
Attendance and Practice
Please arrive on time, 2 or 3 minutes before the lesson and make sure you have all your books, materials ( flash cards, manuscript paper, notebook etc.) and very important, your positive learning attitude. That shows that the student really cares about lesson day, is prepared for the session and is acting responsibly. Trying not to miss any lessons and coming fully prepared with all the assignments from the previous week truly studied, will ensure the progress that the relationship deserves.
Parent's role
One of the greatest lessons to be learned as a piano student is time management and self-discipline. These traits are generally not innate to children and need constant reinforcement from the parents. It is necessary for the student to have consistent daily practice in order to reach his/her full potential.
During the lessons parents and siblings may quietly pursue the teaching area, wait in the car or run errands as long as they return in a timely fashion.
Performances
Recitals are held 2 times a year (usually June and December) and every student is encouraged to participate. This helps building confidence in playing for an audience, gives the student an opportunity to show off the hard work and raises a sense of accomplishment and pride.
Tuition
All year round, weekly lessons must be paid in full at the beginning of each month for the entire month regardless of attendance. Please notice that some months might have 5 lessons. Exceptions from this policy are the National Holidays (New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, 4th of July, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas). Student's personal time off or vacations are not an exception.
Lessons missed by the student will not be rescheduled and time lost will not be credited. If a student is not able to attend a lesson, a 24 hour advance notice is expected in order to reschedule the lesson. There's a maximum of 1 rescheduling per month. If the teacher is not able to attend a lesson, the teacher will contact the student and try to reschedule, or will be given a credit for the next tuition cycle.
The rates for the lessons are
$45 for 30 minute long lesson
$60 for 45 minute long lesson
$75 for 60 minute long lesson
A 45 or 60 minute lesson or two 30 minute lessons a week are recommended for the intermediate and advanced levels.
The Recital fee (paid for renting the facility) will be divided equally to all the students. The fee will reach a maximum $20.
